Crypto recovery in South Korea
An old Korean saying advises knocking on even a stone bridge before crossing it (돌다리도 두들겨 보고 건너라). The platform that took your money looked like stone. The next choice, who may help you recover, deserves the same knocking.
RVK Recovery is a legal practice for cryptocurrency recovery. It reviews fraud, theft, frozen exchange accounts, and lost wallet access for clients in South Korea and worldwide, working remotely and in writing. Recovery is never guaranteed. Three commitments are exact:
- The practice never asks for seed phrases, private keys, or remote access.
- The fee is 12.5%, due only after recovered funds reach your own bank account.
- The first review is written, confidential, without obligation.

First steps after a loss in Korea
Preserve evidence first: KakaoTalk and Telegram chats, bank transfer records, exchange deposit and withdrawal histories, transaction hashes, screenshots. Refuse every request for more money. A "tax", "deposit", or "release fee" demanded before a withdrawal is the scam continuing.
Reporting channels exist and accept reports from foreign residents. File online through the National Police Agency's cybercrime reporting system (ECRM), visit a local police station's cyber unit, or call 112 in an emergency. The Financial Supervisory Service takes investment fraud reports on 1332; the Korea Financial Intelligence Unit lists registered virtual asset operators for a license check. These bodies are named as information. They are not partners of the practice.
Do not trust anyone who contacts you first offering recovery; victim lists are sold on. A firm that demands an upfront fee, a seed phrase "for verification", a guaranteed result, or immediate remote access is running a second scam.
What the practice reviews
The cases reported most in Korea come first: illegal investment "leading rooms" (리딩방) on KakaoTalk and Telegram, romance scams and pig butchering that move victims onto fake exchanges, fake crypto futures platforms where every button works except withdrawal, phishing, SIM swap, account takeover, and fake recovery services. Files that are not fraud follow the same method: a genuine exchange freeze is a documented dispute, an unopenable wallet is a records problem, crypto in an estate is a succession file.
The Korean picture
Reported losses from illegal leading rooms passed one trillion won over roughly two years, according to police data given to the National Assembly; romance scam reports ran into the thousands over the same period. The pattern is identical in Seoul, Busan, Incheon, and Daegu: a small successful withdrawal to build trust, encouragement to borrow and invest more, then taxes and deposits when you ask for your money back. English-speaking residents are targeted too, through Telegram and WhatsApp groups and international romance fronts.
If you feel foolish, put that down. These schemes are run by organized professionals, and Korean reporting has documented police officers and finance workers among the victims. Shame delays reports, and delay lets the money travel.
Fees, security, jurisdiction
The fee is 12.5%, due only after recovered funds are deposited into your bank account. No retainer, no hourly rate, no cryptocurrency payment to open a file, no charge for the review. If there is no recovery through the practice's efforts, nothing is owed.
Security rules do not bend. No seed phrases, private keys, wallet passwords, or two-factor codes. No AnyDesk, TeamViewer, UltraViewer, Chrome Remote Desktop, or screen sharing of any kind. No request to move remaining coins anywhere as a verification step. Anyone who asks for these things in the practice's name is an impersonator.
One limit is fixed. The practice does not accept clients who are citizens or permanent residents of the United States, Germany, Italy, or France, wherever they live. An American passport holder in Seoul cannot be a client; a Korean national in Busan can. Every other country can be considered; each file is judged on the applicable law, the counterparty's location, the evidence, any existing court action, and whether enforcement is practical.
FAQ
Can scammed crypto be recovered in Korea?
Sometimes. A path exists when funds can be traced to an exchange or an identifiable entity, the evidence is usable, and a court can still act. The practice does not guarantee outcomes and declines files with no practical path in writing.
Do I need to file a police report first?
No. A report helps show victim status and strengthens a file, but it is not required to ask for a review.
I am a US citizen living in Korea. Can I apply?
You cannot. The exclusion covers citizens and permanent residents of the United States, Germany, Italy, and France regardless of residence. If that is not you, your file can be considered.
When is the fee due?
Only after recovered funds reach your bank account. Before that, nothing is charged under any name.
Will you ask for my seed phrase or remote access?
Never. If someone asks, end the conversation and open the official site independently. That person is not RVK Recovery.
Request a confidential review
Six answers start the review: full name, email, country and telephone, amount lost in USD, type of case, and a short account of what happened (up to 5,000 characters). No identity documents are needed for this first check. A specialist replies in writing, within business days. The practice is remote and publishes no telephone number or street address, so everything material stays on the record.
