Crypto recovery in Estonia: legal counsel for scam victims

Estonians say: measure nine times, cut once. In a country where daily life runs on digital signatures, the same habit applies to investment offers and to promises of getting lost money back.

RVK Recovery is a cryptocurrency recovery practice serving clients in Estonia remotely, across lost access and wallets, crypto fraud and theft, custodial disputes and exchange lockouts, estates with digital assets, and commercial disputes. Recovery is not guaranteed, no success rates are published, and some matters have no practical path; the practice says so in writing.

Three facts first:

  • The practice never asks for seed phrases, private keys, wallet passwords, two-factor codes, or remote desktop access.
  • The fee is 12.5%, due only after recovered funds reach your bank account.
  • The first review is confidential, written, and carries no obligation.

First steps after a loss in Estonia

Call your bank first, on the number on your card; a transfer can sometimes still be stopped. Then file a report with the Police and Border Guard Board: online at politsei.ee ("Teata kuriteost") or at the nearest police station; in an emergency call 112. A web police officer (veebipolitseinik) can advise before filing. Attach everything: chat screenshots, payment confirmations, wallet addresses, transaction identifiers. Before using any investment platform, check with Finantsinspektsioon at fi.ee whether the company holds an activity licence or has warnings; the regulator's own crypto scam factsheet warns explicitly about fake "money recovery" offers. These bodies are named as information for you, not as partners of the practice.

Delete nothing, even if it is uncomfortable. Send the platform no "tax" and no "activation fee" to release a withdrawal. And trust no one who contacts you first offering recovery: that is the classic second scam, and victim lists are resold within days.

What the practice reviews

The files that matter in Estonia match what the police and Finantsinspektsioon warn about: calls where a "police officer", a "bank security department" or a "Smart-ID operator" asks for PIN codes; fake investment platforms showing invented profits; romance fraud; phishing and impersonation; fake wallets; account takeover; fake recovery services. The practice also reviews lost access matters, disputes with genuine exchanges over frozen accounts, estates with incomplete records, and commercial files: crypto loans, stablecoin questions, arbitration.

Several fake brands belong to one organiser already before a court. A check whether your facts match an open case is free and needs no wallet credentials.

The Estonian picture

Reported fraud losses in Estonia have run in the tens of millions of euros a year, touching Tallinn, Tartu and Narva alike. Call centers abroad now recruit native-level Estonian speakers; a wave of calls in the name of the Health Insurance Fund showed scripts that no longer sound foreign. In a separate scheme, people were talked into entering their PIN1 codes on the state portal eesti.ee, handing scammers access to their personal data. Russian-speaking residents, including in Narva and Lasnamäe, are targeted by Russian-language "investment consultants" too.

Fees, security, jurisdiction

Fee: 12.5% of recovered funds, due only after the money reaches your bank account. If there is no recovery through the practice's efforts, nothing is owed. No retainer, no hourly rate, no cryptocurrency payment to open a file, no charge for the review.

Security: the practice never asks for a seed phrase, private key, wallet password, two-factor code, or remote desktop access (AnyDesk, TeamViewer, UltraViewer, Chrome Remote Desktop, any screen sharing). It never asks you to move remaining coins anywhere "for verification". Anyone who asks in the practice's name is an impersonator. If a file proceeds, the practice must confirm that the correspondent is the victim of that specific loss or holds lawful authority (an executor, for example); the proof is records, never a transfer of coins.

Jurisdiction: the practice does not accept clients who are citizens or permanent residents of the United States, Germany, Italy, or France. Every other country can be considered. Each file is judged on the applicable law, where the counterparty is, the evidence, any existing court action, and whether enforcement is practical.

FAQ

Can crypto sent to scammers be recovered?

Sometimes, where funds can be traced to an exchange or an identifiable entity, the evidence is usable, a court can act, and time has not destroyed the path. The review shows whether a path exists; it promises nothing.

What does the first check cost?

Nothing. The 12.5% fee arises only if recovered funds reach your bank account.

A "recovery agent" already contacted me. What now?

Pay nothing, send nothing. That approach is the classic second scam. Report it at politsei.ee, and you may send the facts for a confidential review.

Do you have an office in Tallinn?

There is no office in Estonia. The practice works remotely, with no phone line and no live chat. Everything material is in writing, so there is a record.

Confidential review

The review starts with six answers: full name, email, country and telephone, the amount lost in US dollars, the type of case, and a short account of what happened (up to 5,000 characters). No identity documents are needed at this stage. A specialist replies in writing, within business days. If the file is not suitable, you receive a plain decline; if a path exists, you receive clear next steps. Measure nine times, especially the second time.
